A Glimpse into Our Love Story Through Photos

I'm super mellow when it comes to love. I know, such a blunt statement, especially since I often write about the bounds of love through my poetry. Love is such a complex subject, yet words flow so easily when I'm writing poetry about it. Now, all of my poems are about you. How ironic.

When people ask how we met, I say I don't know, considering how long we were genuinely friends before we even dated. And dated? We did, without even realizing it. From watching marathons over the phone for a year, to actually seeing each other in person fast forward to dating in real life, then being engaged—you taught me many things about being a woman and continue to teach me every day. After a few months of being your wife, when people ask how it feels, we always say, 'Just like a regular day.' I wouldn't trade 'regular' for anything else.

Thank you for introducing me to rest and giving my body a place to come home to. Thank you for holding me accountable and pushing me towards purpose. Thank you for being the BIGGEST protector and always having my back.

And now, as I reflect on the journey we've embarked on. Every day is a new adventure, filled with laughter, understanding, and unwavering support. Together, we navigate life's twists and turns.

To all the brides-to-be reading this, cherish every moment of your journey—from the excitement of planning to the joy of saying "I do." Embrace the emotions, savor the little details, and above all, hold onto the love that brought you to this milestone. Your partnership is just the beginning of a beautiful chapter, a chapter that unfolds with each passing day, filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a lifetime together.

My poems to follow:

If Your Aura Had a Color

If your aura had a color,
It would be orange,
Peachy and light,
Almost as weightless as your humor.
Sweet and warm like the curve on your face,
A steady thick voice like molasses,
Deep and rich.

I know exactly who you are,
My soul does too.

Ideal

You are both ambition and progress,
Intertwined with just enough effort.
Neither thought out nor methodical,
Yet you still fit.
You are the perfect mix of plainness, complexity, and chaos.

It is your drive that gets me,
It is your mind opposed to failure,
It is your willingness to succeed.
Through words, you create worlds.
I listen shamelessly.
You are both shy and bold, bursting with confidence,
Neither flawless nor complete.

You are Ideal

If you haven't already, I invite you to subscribe to the tribe. Let's continue this journey of storytelling and connection, one blog post at a time.

With love and appreciation,
